Role overview

This is a fully remote, flexible opportunity for a Neuroscience Specialist based in the Baltimore area to serve as an expert evaluator on an AI verification project. The role centers on reviewing machine-generated graphical abstracts of scientific papers and confirming that they faithfully capture the original research. Work is structured as an ad hoc, hourly engagement that fits around academic schedules.

• Review neuroscience research papers alongside LLM-produced graphical abstracts
• Identify factual, conceptual, or visual inaccuracies where the AI summary misrepresents the source material
• Apply domain expertise to verify that technical terminology, methods, and conclusions are portrayed correctly
• Document errors and provide structured feedback used to refine AI model outputs
• Pass a paid qualifying skills assessment with a sample paper and abstract before joining the project

• Master's or PhD in Neuroscience or a closely related discipline
• Demonstrated ability to read and critically evaluate dense scientific literature
• Strong attention to detail and prior experience with fact-checking or analytical review
• Comfort working independently in a remote, asynchronous environment
• Reliable internet connection and availability for ad hoc assignments

• Prior experience evaluating, annotating, or training AI/ML systems
• Background in scientific publishing, peer review, or journal editing
• Familiarity with the conventions used for graphical abstracts in biomedical journals
