POSITION SPECIFICS The Department of Nutritional Sciences in the College of Health and Human Development is seeking a Research Data Management Specialist . This position will work as part of a pediatric nutrition research laboratory to develop and implement a data pipeline and to prepare multiple types of data collected as part of a Federally funded study for hosting in public websites.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Develop data processing manuals that detail instructions for cleaning, storing, deidentifying, and analyzing clinical, behavioral, cognitive, genetic, neuroimaging, and observational (video) data.
Clean, identify, and prepare laboratory data for sharing with collaborators.
Work with Principal Investigator to ensure that data practices are compliant with Federal guidelines
Prepare data processing manuals, data collection instruments, and scoring protocols for hosting on public websites.
Work with Principal Investigator and members of the team to advise on data analysis processes using R, Python, Matlab, or other programs
Prepare written reports of data analyses for contributions to publications
Conduct training sessions with staff and students on best practices in data analysis and stewardshipQUALIFICATIONSThe successful candidate should be fluent in various computing and statistical packages, especially R and python.
Experience working with neuroimaging data preferred, but not required.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree1+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted

LOCATION The position is based at the University Park Campus, in State College, PA; however, flexible work arrangements, such as remote or hybrid work opportunities, may be considered.
