About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a highly experienced and visionary Lead Computational Biologist to spearhead their remote research initiatives. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of computational biologists and bioinformaticians, providing technical guidance and strategic direction.
  • Develop and implement advanced computational strategies for analyzing large-scale biological datasets, including genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional research teams to define project goals and translate biological hypotheses into computational approaches.
  • Oversee the development and optimization of novel algorithms and software tools for biological data analysis.
  • Present research findings to internal stakeholders and at international scientific conferences.
  • Ensure the quality and reproducibility of computational analyses and bioinformatics pipelines.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Statistics, or a closely related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in computational biology or bioinformatics, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven expertise in programming languages (e.g., Python, R, C++) and experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • In-depth knowledge of statistical modeling, machine learning, and data mining techniques applied to biological data.
  • Demonstrated experience with various high-throughput data types and associated analytical pipelines.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a team remotely.
