Our client is seeking a skilled Computational Biologist to join their innovative, fully remote research and development team. This role focuses on the analysis of large-scale genomics datasets to drive biological discovery and support drug development efforts. You will work with cutting-edge technologies and collaborate virtually with a diverse team of scientists to interpret complex genomic information, identify novel biomarkers, and contribute to advancing our understanding of disease mechanisms.
This position offers the flexibility of remote work combined with the challenge of impactful scientific research.
- Analyze next-generation sequencing (NGS) data, including whole-genome, exome, and RNA-seq data, to identify genetic variants and gene expression patterns.
- Develop and implement computational pipelines for processing, analyzing, and visualizing genomic data.
- Collaborate with experimental biologists to interpret results and design follow-up experiments.
- Utilize statistical methods and machine learning techniques to extract meaningful insights from complex biological datasets.
- Contribute to the development of novel analytical tools and methodologies.
- Communicate findings effectively through reports, presentations, and publications.
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Genetics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in analyzing large-scale genomics datasets, particularly NGS data.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or R, and experience with relevant bioinformatics tools and libraries.
- Strong understanding of statistical principles and machine learning concepts.
- Experience with command-line environments (Linux/Unix) and high-performance computing clusters.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and effective communication abilities for remote collaboration.
