AI Evaluation
Work on the cutting edge of chemistry AI, on your own schedule, and get paid for the scientific expertise you already have.
The AI systems everyone is talking about are trained and tested by real chemistry experts. The teams building them need people who can create realistic chemistry problems, judge how well an AI handles scientific reasoning, document the answer and method a professional would give, and explain exactly where the AI falls short. Your judgment helps shape the next generation of AI models and tools for chemistry.
This is that work, done remotely around your current research or professional commitments.
- Design realistic chemistry problems and workflows across experimental and computational chemistry
- Evaluate AI outputs involving reaction mechanisms and synthesis plans
- Document scientifically sound methods and best practices for chemistry analysis and scientific software
- Critique errors in simulation settings and scientific software configurations, then recommend improvements
- Get paid $45–$90 an hour to build real AI skills, on top of your current work
- Work directly with frontier AI tools and see how they are built, tested and improved, experience most chemistry professionals will not have for years
- Build a career edge for what comes next: AI is reshaping chemistry, and the people who understand it from the inside will lead that change
- Fully remote, fully flexible, no minimum shift, no commute
- A PhD in chemistry, computational chemistry, chemical biology, materials science or a closely related discipline
- Hands-on wet-lab research in an experimental specialty or extensive simulation-based research in a computational specialty, with deep knowledge in at least one area such as organic, inorganic, physical, analytical, materials or cheminformatics chemistry
- Professional written and spoken English at C1 level or higher, plus proficiency in Python or scientific tools such as Gaussian, ORCA, Psi4, GROMACS, LAMMPS or RDKit
- No AI experience needed. You bring the expertise; we bring the training on the tools.
- $45–$90 per hour, paid hourly as an independent contractor
- Fully flexible schedule; fully remote, United States
Open Train AI connects experienced professionals with paid, part-time AI training work: shaping and improving the AI systems that companies are building right now.
