General Summary
The Senior Planner at La Jolla Group will play a key role in maintaining alignment between financial objectives and channel execution within our Ecommerce and Retail channels. Using an analytically led collaborative approach, you will own open-to-buy and markdown plans, socialize these plans with channel partners to obtain buy-in, and drive inventory management decisions that optimize turn and margin.

Essential Job Functions
- Determine Ecommerce and Retail channel seasonal assortment needs based on historical sales performance, site metrics, customer demographics, and channel strategy. Collaborate with enterprise merchandising leadership to ensure Ecommerce and Retail channel assortment needs are reflected in the seasonal product line.
- Own Ecommerce and Retail open-to-buy plans at category level based on enterprise financial plans, sell-through analytics, marketplace opportunity/risk, and inventory targets. Socialize open-to-buy plans with channel stakeholders to drive inventory and merchandising decision making.
- Create seasonal buy plans to establish guardrails for the Ecommerce and Retail buying team’s seasonal buy volume and mix. Provide buy-related analytical support (volume, size mix, attribute mix, etc.) to buyers based on historical performance and go-forward strategy. Reconcile buys back to the seasonal buy plan and review gaps with buyers.
- Synchronize buy milestones between enterprise planners and the Ecommerce and Retail buying teams to ensure channel buys are finalized according to the seasonal enterprise planning calendar.
- Collaborate with wholesale channel to coordinate cross-channel SMU needs. Determine where SMU needs align across channels and quantify expected sales volume by channel.
- Analyze SKU level sales velocity to identify merchandising and markdown needs that will maximize revenue/margin and minimize inventory obsolescence. Collaborate with channel partners to ensure appropriate merchandising and markdown actions are taken.
- Serve as the planning and analytics subject matter expert for the Ecommerce and Retail channels. Interface with cross-functional partners as needed to communicate channel sales performance and trends, future assortment needs, inventory transfers across channels, liquidation opportunities, and other key topics.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of forecasting and planning tools and techniques.
- Advanced Excel and data management skills (lookups, pivot tables, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholder decisions through analytical insight and partnership.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple project timelines while ensuring high quality work.
- Ability to quickly adapt tactical execution in response to changing business dynamics.
- Ability to thrive in a remote working environment through open communication and self-discipline.
