Market Store Protection Specialist

General Purpose

The position provides a visible presence at store entrances and exits to mitigate theft and fraud while maintaining a safe environment for associates and customers. The base pay range for this role is $15.72 – $22.21 per hour, dependent on experience and location.

• Maintain a visible “Command” presence at store entrances and on the sales floor, greeting customers with eye contact and a friendly manner.
• Monitor and remove clutter, ensuring safe and clear egress to emergency exits.
• Support the Area Loss Prevention Manager by working at assigned stores as prioritized.
• Identify suspicious behavior and gather theft indicators to reduce shortages.
• Communicate findings to store leadership and loss prevention leadership.
• Train and educate associates on loss prevention and shortage reduction initiatives.
• Represent the company brand and maintain a professional appearance in compliance with dress code.
• Adhere to company policies for external theft response and best practices.
• Engage with internal and external partners, including conference calls and scheduled district meetings.
• Complete additional duties assigned to support loss prevention initiatives.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• At least one year of retail supervisory experience or related training preferred.
• At least one year of loss prevention or security training preferred.
• Active security guard license preferred.
• Highly driven with the ability to achieve results with limited oversight.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proven ability to resolve conflicts and build relationships.
• Compliance with all federal and state laws regarding security positions.

• Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
• Spend up to 100 % of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
• Raise or lower objects more than 25 lb., bend, stoop, or crouch as required.

Must be able to travel and drive frequently. This role requires regular in‑office presence but can be performed with a combination of in‑office and remote work.
