Position: Specialist, Buying - Small Leather Goods
Location: New York

Summary

The Specialist, Buying for Small Leather Goods supports the Senior Managers in executing the seasonal merchandising strategy for the US network. This role partners cross‑functionally to drive business performance through reporting, market preparation, and boutique support while maintaining a strong understanding of competitive positioning and trends.

Responsibilities
  • Support Senior Managers – Buying on implementation of category strategy across seasonal collections and reorders.
  • Prepare pre‑market materials (order forms, pricing sheets, analyses) and assist during market buying sessions and presentations.
  • Maintain in‑season and market prep reporting including sales, sell‑thru, inventory, months of supply and shipments using Excel and Power BI.
  • Conduct ad hoc deep‑dive analyses and present weekly, monthly, quarterly and seasonal performance reviews.
  • Partner with Boutique Leaders, Planning, Product Merchandising, Operations, Visual Merchandising, Education, Style Expertise and other teams to execute objectives.
  • Facilitate product transfers and client requests through outreach to Boutiques and global partners.
  • Support boutique engagement, training visits, and communication to align product vision and local market needs.
  • Develop and maintain mastery of business systems including Power

    BI, MMS, Orli, AX pricing, Smartsheet and AXBI.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a buying‑related, strategic or analytical role, luxury fashion experience preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, SUMPRODUCT, pivot tables) and strong PowerPoint abilities.
  • Strong analytical mindset with retail math skills and ability to synthesize large datasets into clear recommendations.
  • Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills and proven cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Partially remote role requiring a minimum of three days in‑person at the New York home office; domestic and select international travel required.
