Position: District Manager-New England

Responsibilities

Lead a district of stores in New England, guiding the team through the company values and leading by example to provide an exceptional and rewarding lifestyle experience for both internal and external guests. Motivate, support, and communicate with employees at all levels of the organization and region to ensure company values are embraced.

Create a learning and nurturing environment for all retail team members that promotes sales and service success, and internal career growth. Develop and implement strategies to increase qualified applicants. Thoughtfully hire, develop, and mentor store management teams and minimize employee turnover by focusing on hiring qualified people, effectively orienting new employees, setting clear performance expectations, training, coaching, and giving constructive performance feedback.

Engage employees in identifying and implementing strategies to improve productivity. Facilitate the implementation of company learning and training programs. Cultivate an open, authentic dialog with store teams and home office partners. Partner with HR to ensure employment practices are adhered to and with Learning & Development to ensure transfer of learned skills on the job.

Assist high‑value employees with career development strategies to improve retention and build bench strength. Drive profitability and promote an entrepreneurial spirit in all aspects of store operations while remaining brand appropriate.

Manage each store’s and district’s P & L statements, budgetary compliance, and individual cost center expenses. Drive top‑line sales results through motivation, contests, rewards, and recognition programs. Consistently execute company policies and procedures, and participate in the development and execution of Loss Prevention Programs.

Challenge store teams and self to develop and streamline store processes in partnership with the Store Operations Manager. Support the direction of the brand through merchandise assortments appropriate to regional markets and promote the use of product knowledge as a tool to enhance employee productivity, sales, and service levels. Provide regional and seasonal input to merchandising teams and serve as a conduit of consumer feedback.

Conduct ongoing business analysis to determine regional product trends. Embrace brand direction by integrating product knowledge with fashion direction. Be a strong ambassador of the brand by personally representing the season’s trends and key items for the business. Communicate the TB lifestyle through visual and experiential brand execution.

Manage the upkeep of the physical plant in partnership with construction and store management. Partner with the home office visual team to ensure consistent seasonal visual direction. Ensure employee appearance reflects the Tommy Bahama brand image.

Embrace, articulate, and reflect the Tommy Bahama Culture in all business decisions and actions, influence store teams to embody the values, and commit to maintaining the culture through business evolution.

Qualifications

College degree in business or related field (preferred). 7+ years of retail management experience, with at least 2 years managing store managers or 2+ years as a Tommy Bahama manager.

Extremely strong leadership skills and solid interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and listening skills. Demonstrated ability to confirm understanding after direction is given. Strong organization and multitasking ability. Skilled in internal and external guest relations, building teams with a proven track record of increasing responsibility.

Ability to work varied hours, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Rate Range: $94,000–$125,000/year.
