The Assistant Manager role at Spirit Halloween in White Lake, MI is a full-time, on-site position responsible for supporting the Store Manager in daily store operations. This role helps lead and motivate the store team, ensuring excellent customer service, efficient merchandising, and a fun, engaging shopping environment. Day-to-day tasks include supervising team members, assisting with scheduling, monitoring sales performance, and maintaining store standards such as visual displays, stock levels, and cleanliness.
The Assistant Manager also helps oversee cash handling procedures, loss prevention, and compliance with company policies. This position plays an active role in training new team members, resolving customer issues, and contributing to a safe, inclusive, and high-energy workplace.
- Retail leadership skills, including experience supervising teams, coaching staff, and supporting store management.
- Customer service and communication skills to interact effectively with shoppers, resolve issues, and create a welcoming environment.
- Organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities, maintain store standards, and support efficient operations.
- Basic merchandising and sales skills, including setting up displays, monitoring inventory, and promoting products to drive revenue.
- Cash handling and point-of-sale (POS) experience, with attention to accuracy, loss prevention, and compliance with store procedures.
- Ability to work on-site in White Lake, MI with a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, move merchandise, and support store setup and takedown activities.
- Previous retail or customer-facing experience is preferred; experience in seasonal or specialty retail is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent is typically required; additional education in business or retail management is beneficial.
