Job Overview
Select and gather products for customers' online orders efficiently, ensuring freshness and quality. Assemble online orders, process coupons and payments, and load orders onto cars when customers arrive for pickup. Provide a positive customer service experience that encourages repeat online shopping.
Based in Omaha, Nebraska, Baker’s has been merged with The Kroger Company since 2001 and serves customers across 11 stores in Nebraska.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience as a personal shopper or in a production‑oriented or warehouse environment, stocking shelves, or as a cashier.
- Online Grocery Pick‑Up Clerk working as In‑Store Grocery Shopper is responsible for selecting and gathering products for customers' online orders efficiently, maintaining fresh and high‑quality items.
- Initiate and complete the selection process for customers' online orders.
- Assemble customers' online orders, process coupons and payment, and deliver and load orders onto cars when customers arrive for pickup.
- Scan and bag orders on the go while following all bagging standards.
- Communicate any substitutions or exceptions to a customer's order at the time of pickup.
- Meet or exceed customer expectations for ease of shopping, variety, freshness, and cleanliness.
- Adhere to local, state, and federal laws, food safety procedures, and company guidelines.
- Receive orders from the Order Selector according to guidelines and store products in optimal temperature zones.
- Read and follow directions given in the note section.
- Ensure quality and freshness of all items chosen.
- Communicate with customers via a portable phone and respond to calls in a professional and timely manner.
- Retrieve each customer's order from all staging locations, ensure order accuracy, and load the order into the customer's car.
- Provide a positive customer service experience that encourages online shopping repeat visits.
- Process orders through the point‑of‑sale (POS) system.
- Follow policies and procedures to determine appropriate substitutions in the event of an out‑of‑stock situation.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of staging areas and equipment.
- Report pricing, scanning, and item location discrepancies and invalid temperature types to the store e‑Commerce supervisor.
- Inspect equipment and notify the store Pick‑Up supervisor or other store management of items needing repair.
- Perform required opening and closing procedures.
- Assist in training new e‑Commerce team members.
- Meet or exceed productivity standards.
- Work cooperatively in a high‑paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
- Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
