Inventory Control Clerk Part Time

Job Summary

Responsible for executing departmental inventory counts, processing, and sorting damaged or defective and/or return-to-vendor merchandise, reducing salvage, obtaining return authorizations from vendors, and re‑wrapping sellable merchandise. Works cross‑functionally within departments to complete related inventory control responsibilities.

• Ensure all items are stocked, promotional plans executed, and signage accurate and visible.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe department environment.
• Understand production and financial performance reporting for the department.
• Complete inventory counts according to Home Office procedures and deadlines.
• Obtain and process return authorizations, vendor chargebacks, and package/ship merchandise returns.
• Maintain correct stock/inventory status for damaged, defective, and returned merchandise.
• Process breakage logs, freezer and dairy damages, and merchandise recalls.
• Administer community donation programs and manage salvage orders.
• Execute merchandise protection on designated items.
• Re‑wrap sellable merchandise following proper seal and shrink‑wrap guidelines.
• Enter weekly front‑door recoveries into the case management system as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments when needed.

Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of this job.

Must successfully complete required training and certification processes. Requires effective communication, interpersonal, and computer skills, as well as basic math skills. Minimum age: 18 years.

• Work on hard surfaces; frequently bend, climb, crawl, pull, reach, stoop, and ladder/step stool use.
• Frequently lift objects up to 30 pounds; may lift heavier items with assistance.
• Must use a pallet jack to pull and push pallets.
• Exposure to indoor/outdoor temperatures, extreme freezers, and coolers.
• Frequent exposure to hazardous materials.
• Forklift training is optional.

Starting at $16.00 per hour. Salarity may vary by location, education, experience, and qualifications.
