Position OverviewThe Assistant Store Leader of Operations leads and supports the Store Leader by directing activities required to achieve all store goals, including best of class guest service, sales objectives, operating expenses, loss prevention, and merchandising presentation, while driving both associate and guest engagement.
You will provide guests with exceptional service, through relationship building, product knowledge sharing, and presenting a clean, well‑maintained store environment. Operations Leaders drive excellence through increasing sales, finding operational efficiencies, and developing top talent within their team.
Key Responsibilities- Foster a guest‑focused team environment through driving volume and anticipating guest needs.
- Achieve excellent guest service by role‑modeling company service standards.
- Proactively provide timely feedback to associates, reward and recognize performance to drive retention.
- Hold self and associates accountable for the achievement of financial results and performance standards.
- Manage conflict and coach by applying the company’s recommended processes, standards, and guidelines.
- Empower and involve associates in decision‑making processes.
- Receive feedback and foster dialogue around solutions.
- Develop associates through an individualized approach by matching talent with tasks, delegating, and challenging on results.
- Foster team commitment through support, relationship building, and recognizing individual contributions.
- Lead by managing through change and adversity.
- Make recommendations on hiring, promotions, and terminations of team members based on performance.
- Consistently meet or exceed store and individual goals and contribute to the store’s overall goals.
- Engage guests and make their shopping experience exceptional.
- Co‑lead floor set/refresh management.
- Manage and oversee scheduling.
- Manage back‑of‑house organization.
- Manage shipment and product prep process (steaming, hanging, etc.).
- Plan and manage merchandise markdown process.
- Manage supply orders, maintenance, and cleaning.
- Manage inventory/damages.
- Audit and manage banking & loss prevention systems.
- Train new associates on operational processes.
- Co‑manage payroll and be responsible for store’s financial performance.
- Responsible for decisions regarding store operations and planning.
- Control workflow through successful planning and delegation.
- Execute task directives within designated time frames.
- Complete opening/closing procedures.
- Adhere to loss prevention practices and report potential incidents to ensure shortage control in order to protect company assets.
- Communicate effectively with the executive team.
- Utilize and manage the use of weekly reporting to track, analyze and communicate business results and determine strategies to maximize sales.
- Interpret home office communication through Store Leader / District Leader partnership.
- Partner with the Visual District Leader and Visual Assistant Store Leader to oversee and manage the roll‑out of floorsets, window sets, fixture placement, and overall visual environment.
- Maintain an awareness of brand aesthetic and relevance to the store environment and communicate with the team.
- Communicate performance observations and offer feedback to the District Leader.
- Must be able to lift & carry heavy boxes (up to 30 lbs) and perform physical tasks such as prolonged standing, sitting, reaching, kneeling and/or squatting frequently. May be required to occasionally climb ladders, climb and descend stairs frequently, depending on location.
- 1 year of Retail Management experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, reaching, kneeling, and/or squatting frequently. Must be able to lift and carry 30 pounds regularly without assistance.
