Project Accounting Coordinator
We are seeking a Project Accounting Coordinator to support project managers throughout the lifecycle of civil engineering projects, with a strong emphasis on complex public sector work in NYC. This role involves preparing fee proposals, drafting contracts and subcontracts, and ensuring projects comply with contract terms, regulatory requirements, and municipal standards. Experience with NYC agencies, particularly the NYC School Construction Authority (SCA), is highly preferred.
Responsibilities- Develop Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), project authorizations, and budgets.
- Align with client invoicing requirements and public sector billing guidelines.
- Support subconsultant invoice processing and monitor project financials, including budgets, revenue, variance, and work-in-progress.
- Assist with pre-bill reviews and resolve revenue variances.
- Support revenue recovery efforts within public funding constraints.
- Act as a liaison between internal teams, clients, subconsultants, and public agencies to ensure clear and compliant communication.
- Participate in monthly project reviews and collaborate with Business Operations to analyze performance and identify financial improvement opportunities.
- 3+ years of experience supporting complex NYC public sector projects.
- 3+ years of experience drafting contracts and subcontracts.
- 3+ years of experience preparing proposal templates.
- 3+ years of experience with change orders.
- Experience working for an engineering or architectural firm with revenue over $150 million.
- Ability to create pivot tables and Vlookups in Excel.
- Proficiency in Deltek, BST, or Oracle.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint is a plus.
- Participation in ERP implementation, preferably Vantagepoint, is beneficial.
This position is fully remote and offers the opportunity to work within a company known for its great culture. Candidates CANNOT be based on the West Coast.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $32.00 - $37.00/hr.
