Principal, Legal Financial Operations

* ** As Director, Legal Financial Operations, you will serve as a trusted advisor to Legal leadership, shaping financial strategy and enabling better decisions through disciplined planning, forecasting, analytics, and governance.  You will collaborate across Legal Operations and with enterprise partners-including Finance, Accounting, and Global Risk Management-to strengthen financial transparency, improve forecasting accuracy, and build scalable capabilities that support long-term organizational performance.*

* ** Responsibilities*
* ** Lead the Legal organization's budgeting, forecasting, accrual, and annual financial planning processes.*
* ** Develop and deliver financial reporting, dashboards, and analytics that provide meaningful insights into legal spend and operational performance.*
* ** Partner with Legal leadership and enterprise stakeholders to provide financial analysis and recommendations that support strategic decision-making.*
* ** Monitor financial performance, identify trends, and support resource planning and allocation decisions.*
* ** Establish and maintain financial governance processes to improve the accuracy, consistency, and transparency of Legal financial data.*
* ** Leverage Enterprise Legal Management (ELM) and e-billing technologies to support reporting, analytics, and operational decision-making.*
* ** Drive continuous improvement initiatives to simplify, standardize, and enhance financial and operational processes.*
* ** Support strategic Legal Operations initiatives and special projects as needed.*
* ** Qualifications*
* ** Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Legal Operations, or a related field.*
* ** 8+ more years of experience in Legal Operations, financial planning and analysis, business operations, financial operations, accounting, or a related discipline.*
* ** Experience supporting Legal Operations, legal spend management, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analytics strongly desired.*
* ** Candidates with significant business operations or financial operations experience in a complex enterprise environment will also be considered.*
* ** Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.*
* ** Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and translate complex data into actionable business insights.*
* ** Experience working collaboratively across multiple functions and levels of leadership.*
* ** Experience utilizing Enterprise Legal Management (ELM) and e-billing technologies, including Team Connect, Collaborati, Counsel Link, Legal Tracker, or similar platforms.*
* ** MBA, CPA, CMA, or other relevant professional certification is a plus.*
* ** This position is open to remote and office-based candidates across the U.S., with a preference for candidates located near a The Cigna Group office.*

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 130, USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus and long term incentive plan.
