Overview

We are hiring a Junior Technical Sales Engineer to join our team in our corporate office in Melrose Park, IL! This role starts off with 6 to 8 months of training with the intent of then transitioning into your Outside Sales career!

This position will be responsible for learning all of our products by providing quotes to customers, collaborating with the Sales Department, familiarizing with our engineering and shipping processes, and eventually becoming an outside sales representative.

Responsibilities
  • Spend 6 to 8 months in Melrose Park, IL headquarters for extensive technical, products, processes, and sales training.
  • Prepare quotations and installation drawings for storage rack projects.
  • Perform structural analysis and design to meet customers' specifications and a variety of codes.
  • Create bills of material for proposals and orders.
  • Communicate extensively with sales personnel and project managers in the beginning and eventually interact with customers, dealers, and distributors later in the training period. Go on ride-alongs with existing sales personnel to shadow and control responsibilities.
  • Work in the company's CRM to evaluate and assist on leads, follow up on leads and quotes assigned to existing sales personnel, and review customer information to provide continuous improvement ideas to the Director of Sales.
  • Assist with maintaining existing customer accounts as required.
  • Travel in furtherance of responsibilities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business with a highly technical aptitude
  • Strong desire to work in Industrial Sales and develop a long-term career in outside sales
  • A customer-focused and results-oriented attitude with excellent presentation skills and the confidence to interact with customers at all levels.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume, ever-changing environment
  • Must live within one hour (driving) of Chicago, IL.
  • Must have an excellent driving record and own a car
