Key Account Manager – Bone HealthLive
What You Will DoThe Key Account Manager will report to the Key Account Director. Your primary responsibility is to assess and diagnose the current business environment within each assigned account in relation to Amgen products, and to plan and execute actions for success. You will work with matrix teams internally and build strong relationships externally with customers to support sales performance and brand strategies across multiple touchpoints and levels within complex partner organizations.
Residency in the assigned territory and established relationships with key accounts are preferred.
Territory: Entire state of GA
Role Responsibilities- Develop and execute innovative market strategies to engage difficult-to-access health care providers and accounts while maintaining compliance.
- Serve as the Amgen Bone Health contracting point.
- Lead contract delivery, business reviews, and performance tracking.
- Coordinate with GPOs and large Rheumatology Networks.
- Lead post-fracture care initiatives.
- Monitor Amgen business performance across the portfolio.
- Identify drivers and barriers, and coordinate pull-through initiatives across field teams.
- Provide actionable field intelligence and recommendations to the home office.
- Partner closely with Market Access Team and Account Executives in shared accounts.
- Resolve contracting, membership, and channel issues.
- Contribute insights to Pricing, Brand, and GPO teams.
- Shape the environment, exploring Alternate Sites of Care, injection sites, and value-based partnerships.
- Doctorate degree & 2 years of sales experience and/or related account management experience
- Or Masters degree & 4 years of sales experience and/or related account management experience
- Or Bachelors degree & 6 years of sales experience and/or related account management experience
- 3+ years of account management and/or public payor experience
- Residency in the geography with established relationships with key accounts/customers
- Advanced degree (e.g., MPH, MBA, Pharm
D) with 7+ years of healthcare sales and/or marketing experience or related experience in buying processes and decision making - Experience with clinic, hospital, access environments, relevant competitors, and specialty
- District Management / Reimbursement / Managed Care experience
- Solid understanding of the current marketplace and trends
- Knowledge of payor systems, billing, coding, and reimbursement processes
- Knowledge of CMS policies and processes
- Documented ability to resolve payor-related issues with the sales force
- Clear understanding of buy and bill process
- Strategic thinking and proven ability to develop, execute, and monitor business plans
- Ability to engage, influence, and lead cross‑functional teams
- Leadership ability focused on influence, impact, and leading without authority
- Identifies key staff and departments that influence decision-making for biopharmaceutical product utilization within key accounts and cultivates relationships with them
- Secures appropriate company resources to achieve account objectives
- Analyzes, interprets, and draws insights from clinic economics/financial performance and varying data sources
- Successfully navigates clinic reimbursement, public payor, and agency activities, including LCD processes
- Knowledge of hospital committee structure, P&T process, treatment and discharge protocols, DRG and hospital reimbursement processes
- Excellent networking, influencing, negotiation, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills
- Thrives in a fast‑paced environment with multiple competing priorities
- Solution‑oriented mindset with initiative and enthusiasm, working effectively in teams
- Broad range of computer skills
