Sales Representative – Food service position at a growing manufacturing company.

  • Direct hire position with excellent benefit package
  • $70,000/yr.
  • Work from home - Resides in the commutable area to the Somerset, NJ, or Folcroft, PA office

Requirements of the Sales Representative – Food service:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Bilingual English/Spanish (read & write) is a big plus
  • Prior SYSCO Food service distribution experience preferred but not required
  • 3-5 years of food service sales experience is ideal
  • Strong written and verbal communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Microsoft Office:
    Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power Point
  • Ability to travel, including some long-distance business trips
  • Valid driver's license
  • Occasionally may need to lift heavy objects as needed

Responsibilities of the Sales Representative – Food service:

This role supports the Food service Division by handling daily sales operations, helping grow revenue, and maintaining strong customer relationships. Main duties include checking purchase orders, solving customer issues, managing accounts receivable, researching new opportunities, and helping develop sales strategies.

  • Handle daily tasks such as checking open purchase orders, tracking accounts receivable, and responding to customer questions.
  • Manage accounts receivable, including collecting payments, processing payment requests, and fixing pricing or deduction issues.
  • Support sales activities by attending trade shows, coordinating promotions, and suggesting new products to buyers.
  • Research the food service market to find new customers, understand competitors, and stay updated on industry trends.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, buyers, and brokers to strengthen brand presence.
  • Introduce new products to current and potential customers and support new product sales goals.
  • Prepare sales reports and forecasts for management.
  • Share regular updates on sales results and market trends.
