Brightsmith are currently working with a $700M+ national leader in renewable natural gas (RNG). Backed by a global investment fund, they convert organic waste into renewable energy through their patented anaerobic digestion technology, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting regenerative agriculture.
With a design-build-own-operate model, the company is scaling rapidly across North America. As part of this national expansion, they are hiring Regional Sales Managers to launch and lead commercial efforts in several states
You ’ll be the first commercial lead in your region, responsible for acquiring organic feedstock for the anaerobic digestion facilities. This role is ideal for a true hunter — someone energized by winning new business, opening doors, and growing a book of business from the ground up!
Key Responsibilities:
- Hunter Mentality: Source, prospect, and close new organic feedstock clients in your assigned region — from first outreach to signed contract.
- Feedstock Acquisition: Meet daily and quarterly volume targets by securing reliable and scalable organic waste streams.
- Complex Sales: Navigate multi-stakeholder deals across food producers, distributors, waste generators, and haulers — including C-suite engagement.
- Consultative Selling: Uncover client needs and craft tailored proposals to support waste diversion and sustainability goals.
- Salesforce CRM: Log all sales activity, track pipeline performance, and maintain organized records of client interactions.
- Pricing Strategy: Use internal tools to develop pricing proposals aligned with customer needs and operational requirements.
- Outbound Activity: Perform cold calls, schedule meetings, and build a solid cadence of prospecting across the region.
- Event Participation: Attend industry trade shows, regional events, and networking opportunities to build brand awareness and generate leads.
- Internal Collaboration: Coordinate with Logistics, Operations, Sales, and Accounting teams to ensure a seamless onboarding process.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 3+ years in outside B2B sales, ideally in waste, recycling, or environmental services.
- Demonstrated success in new business development and building a territory.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Experience with Salesforce CRM or equivalent.
- Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and comfortable operating independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with food manufacturers, brewers, restaurants, or haulers.
- Understanding of organic waste diversion, recycling, and circular economy principles.
What They Offer:
- Competitive Benefits: Health, vision, and wellness benefits, along with a 401(k) plan.
- Quarterly Bonus: Quarterly incentive bonuses in addition to base salary.
- Paid Time Off (PTO): Generous PTO policy.
- Remote Work: Flexibility to work remotely, with occasional compensated travel for client meetings and conferences.
