We are seeking an experienced Sales Representative who will be responsible for servicing and growing our client's presence within the retail liquor market. This role focuses on maintaining strong relationships with existing customers while actively identifying and securing new business opportunities to increase market share, sales volumes, and brand visibility.
Key Responsibilities Account Management & Client Servicing- Maintain and develop relationships with existing retail customers (liquor stores, supermarkets, wholesalers, bottle stores).
- Conduct regular client visits according to call cycle plans.
- Ensure optimal product availability, correct pricing, and strong in-store execution.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure timely order placement.
- Resolve customer queries, complaints, and delivery issues efficiently.
- Negotiate shelf space, promotional displays, and in-store visibility opportunities.
- Identify and target new retail accounts within the assigned territory.
- Present company product ranges, pricing structures, and promotional offerings.
- Secure new listings and onboard new customers.
- Develop strategies to grow product penetration within existing accounts.
- Monitor competitor activity and identify opportunities to increase market share.
- Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets (volume and revenue).
- Drive promotional campaigns and ensure execution in-store.
- Upsell and cross-sell new or seasonal product lines.
- Analyse sales trends and identify growth opportunities.
- Prepare weekly call reports and sales performance reports.
- Provide feedback on competitor pricing, promotions, and new product launches.
- Track customer performance and identify at-risk accounts.
- Report on territory performance and sales pipeline.
- Submit accurate sales orders and ensure follow-up on deliveries.
- Maintain up-to-date customer records in CRM systems.
- Matric / Grade 12
- 2–5 years’ sales experience (preferably within FMCG, liquor, or retail sectors – preference to previous liquor sales experience)
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets
- Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle
- Willingness to travel within assigned territory
- Strong negotiation and closing skills
- Relationship‑building and customer service orientation
- Results‑driven with strong commercial acumen
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Self‑motivated and able to work independently
- Planning and organisational skills
- Ability to analyse sales data and market trends
- Existing relationships within the retail liquor trade
- Knowledge of liquor product categories (spirits, wines, beers, RTDs)
- Experience with CRM systems
