Position: Key Account Manager (LCL-Walmart)

Position Summary

Reporting to the Head of Sales, National/Chain Accounts, the Key Account Manager (KAM) will be primarily responsible for developing and maintaining strategic relationships and achieving account-specific revenue and profit targets.

The Key Account Manager (KAM) is also accountable for the development and implementation of the annual business plan, forecast accuracy, promotional execution, distribution targets, new item listings, SRP management, and retail execution. This position is responsible for customer headquarter calls and the ability to build relationships internally and externally.

This partially remote position requires in‑office attendance 3 days per week and offers increased responsibility with business growth. The ideal candidate must be located in the GTA. This position requires limited travel.

Your primary objectives will be to:
  • Conduct regular, customer head office meetings, building strong relationships with key decision‑makers to ensure sustained customer satisfaction, loyalty, and long‑term partnership growth.
  • Provide weekly reporting on month to date sales results and creatively provide solutions to gaps to plan to deliver the annual budget
  • Analyze customer sales data to identify risks and opportunities to help develop annual sales KPIs and targets
  • Leverage insights to develop the annual ad grid (ability to build a promotional calendar) and implement trade promotion strategies to maximize growth and improve ROI
  • Prepare and present quarterly business reviews highlighting opportunities and risks to the plan and solutions to deliver the annual targets
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to inform and influence business decisions
  • Support/lead all account negotiations under the direction of the Head of Sales
  • Manage and track all rebates, allowances, deductions, and receivables with trading partners and negotiate payback when discrepancies occur
  • Provide strategic direction and guidance to Sales Reps to produce the best‑in‑class sales visits, arming them with monthly targets to maximize Grace on shelf presence and communicating upcoming flyer support.
  • Collaborate and build positive working relationships with Customer Service, CPFR, Finance, Procurement, Marketing and Grace internal teams to manage account profitability and supply chain efforts to deliver goods in timely and efficient manner.

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, marketing, psychology)
  • 10+ years of relevant CPG industry experience managing Walmart or LCL (a must), with cross‑functional experience in Trade Marketing/Sales Strategy/Category Management
  • Strong communication skills: verbally to build retailer relationships, and in writing to accomplish follow‑up.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Ability to collaborate and build positive working relationships
  • Fearless confidence with advanced experience negotiating at the head office level especially with price increases
  • Ability to develop/contribute to the development of sales strategies
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook)
  • Experience in CPG food industry (ethnic foods) preferred
  • Financial acumen, understanding of P&Ls, ability to forecast accurately
  • Ability to interpret financial data to make decisions and influence outcomes. This includes margins, retail math, forecast/projections, velocities, with an analytical mindset and drive to grow margins
  • Must have a valid license as some local travel required across the GTA
