Area Sales Manager – Gulf Region (LA/MS/AL)
Location: Gulf Region (LA/MS/AL)
Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: $130,000 – $140,000 annually
Contractor Work Model: Remote
Hiring Timeline- Resumes and interviews underway immediately.

Phase 1 (Initial Focus):
- Manage and maintain the Pacific Northwest region.
- This territory has strong, established business and long-standing client relationships.
Phase 2 (Transition Period):
- Gradual integration into the Gulf region.
- Work alongside the current Gulf ASM to build relationships and ensure a seamless transition.
- 50–60% travel to customer sites.
- Remaining time remote/home office-based.
- Base Salary: Target $130k (up to $140k for a standout candidate)
- Commission: 1% uncapped on all sales
- First-Year Ramp Support: Potential 1.5% commission due to heavy prospecting focus
- Car Allowance: $500–$600/month (gas, maintenance, etc.)
A highly respected, well-established brand within the marine industry. The sales approach is less about introducing the brand and more about differentiating its value and positioning against competitors.
Position OverviewThe Area Sales Manager will drive revenue growth and expand market presence across the Marine, Offshore, and Wind segments. This role is focused on developing new business, strengthening existing relationships, and delivering tailored solutions directly to end users.
This is a true hunter role — we are seeking a motivated sales professional who thrives on prospecting, building pipeline, and closing business.
Key Responsibilities- Achieve profitable sales growth within assigned territories.
- Consistently meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales quotas.
- Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and end users.
- Develop strategic account plans aligned with customer needs.
- Deliver compelling sales presentations that drive revenue growth.
- Maintain high product and technical competency.
- Provide exceptional customer service and timely follow-up.
- Execute company sales strategy within assigned segments.
- Attend trade shows, regional meetings, and company calls.
- Submit weekly activity reports and monthly expense reports.
- Must reside in the Gulf Region (LA/MS/AL).
- 5–10 years of outside sales experience.
- Proven track record of exceeding quota.
- Strong hunter mentality (this is not an account manager role).
- Experience calling directly on end users.
- Commercial marine industry experience preferred (lighting/electrical experience not required — product training provided).
- Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).
- Strong communication, presentation, and listening skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively in a remote environment.
- Willingness to travel 50–60% domestically.
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
