Sales Representative, Business Development
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Sales Representative to support the growth of National Food Group within the Commissary segment, with a strong focus on the corrections market. This role is responsible for developing new customer relationships, revitalizing past connections, and driving revenue growth through strategic sales efforts. The Sales Representative will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure customer needs are met with tailored solutions, while consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in the commissary space and a deep understanding of the unique needs of the corrections environment. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing team and make a meaningful impact in a specialized market.
- Active prospecting within given territory – to include cold calling and customer visits
- Building and maintaining relationships with customers and prospects
- Lead generation through calls and marketing efforts
- Continually cross‑sell and upsell all commissary items across multiple categories
- Manage customer relationships and handle issues promptly within company policy
- Increase revenue and profit within assigned territory by closing new orders
- Work closely with management to achieve sales objectives
- Create and/or communicate with marketing to produce marketing material, including order guides/flyers/recipes
- Management of order process from entry to invoice and follow‑up
- Sending samples to prospective customers
- Working with purchasing to source new products or develop new products to meet customer demand
- Travel to trade shows and presentations
- Work on commissary catalogs with the marketing and purchasing team to drive awareness and sales across all categories
- Other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- College degree preferred
- Sales experience preferred, but not required
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- High school education or equivalent
- Ability to travel overnight up to 20%
- Strong relationship management skills and ability to quickly establish rapport
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced working environment
- Excellent written and oral presentation skills
- High level of computer literacy
