Job Role s And Responsibilities- Business Development Managers impact the number of clients booking Sandals and Beaches by servicing, educating, and building relationships in a proactive, professional manner within the assigned territory at the Travel Agent, Tour Operator, and Tourist Board levels.
- Grow new business by helping travel agencies develop marketing plans and reach booking goals via tools available through the Certified & Preferred Sandals Agency Programs.
- Demonstrate an outgoing, positive, professional attitude with strong communication and time management skills; work evenings and weekends as required. Travel extensively and commit to the role.
- Navigate the internet, communicate via e-mail, operate a laptop, deliver presentations using PowerPoint, manipulate Excel, and prepare documents using a word processor. Speak in public and prepare presentations for travel agencies.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication and presentation skills for internal and external customers.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritize workload to meet deadlines, and maintain professionalism under pressure.
- Work well with little to no supervision and within a team setting; multi-task and adapt quickly to changes.
- Travel internationally and domestically with up-to-date documentation.
- Effectively communicate with management, product management, support, and development teams as needed.
- Willing to have an image captured for Sales & Marketing purposes.
Note:
For most locations, a wrapped company car is not readily available. A monthly car allowance is provided for the use of a personal vehicle, and a Company Vehicle may take up to 6 months to receive. The car allowance assists with gas, insurance, wear & tear, and maintenance. A personal credit card may be required for business expenses, with reimbursement within two weeks.
To be successful in this position requires a huge commitment, including multiple overnights within your region. The BDM role combines sales & marketing expertise with administrative duties.
Competence Requirements- Ability to grow business and work under pressure.
- Ability to drive and/or travel away from home weekly and as needed.
- Willingness to work weekend events in the region and host trips to the Caribbean (nights & weekends involved).
- Self-motivation and ability to work independently from a home office without direct supervision.
- Strong prioritization, organization, and execution skills with flexibility to handle changes.
- Professionalism in social situations.
- Clear written and verbal communication, including public speaking, slide presentations, and webinars to large groups.
- High proficiency with email, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Word, and social media platforms.
- Ability to manage administrative tasks while traveling overnight.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with accounts, peers, and clients.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and set up booth displays.
- Maintain an acceptable driving record and valid passport.
This role offers a base salary of $59,000 with an opportunity for incentives.
