What is the role about?
Analytik Jena US is seeking a highly motivated and skillful instrument sales pro with biology experience to handle sales in the New England region. Analytik Jena is a provider of high-performance automated liquid handling solutions, including customizable configuration, applications process and programming. Its portfolio includes the most modern technology and systems for applications in the life science area. The position will be based out of the candidate’s Boston, MA area home office.
Which tasks will you perform?
- Manage all stages of the sales process: prospecting, demonstrations, negotiation, follow‑up, and closing.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with prospective and current customers
- Grow a strong pipeline of key instrument and consumable accounts through lead generation and follow‑up.
- Demonstrate a strong knowledge of product lines and differentiation features of our systems to address competitive challenges
- Coordinate with our applications, programming, and service teams to provide post‑sale installation, training, customer support and service
- Manage sales activities and travel schedule
What do we expect from you?
You will have (required):
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in relevant biological sciences or engineering, such as biochemistry, biomedical engineering or other relevant majors, or equivalent knowledge through work experience
- 5+ years selling liquid handling and automation capital equipment, technical understanding of life science products and applications
- Travel required 55-60% of the time, most weekdays are in the field
You may have (preferred):
- Hunter mentality with a proven ability to identify and close sales while increasing company and product visibility
- Computer proficiency with programing and software. High aptitude to learn application specific software and firmware (experience with Salesforce is a plus)
- Superb communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills
- Skilled in consultative selling for individuals and teams, with expertise in closing capital equipment sales and developing key account relationships.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
