The Market Development Manager is responsible for nurturing and maximizing current customer relationships and cultivating new or competitive accounts while maximizing sales potential within an assigned territory. The MDM is tasked with creating and executing a territory plan to deliver year‑over‑year install base growth directed by annual performance objectives and quota. This role focuses on three primary markets:
Medical, Research & Education (MRE), Industry customers, and the Veterinary segment.
- Create a territory plan to grow market share, win competitive conversions, and achieve annual revenue targets using value selling across the Medical Research and Education, Industry, and Veterinary product lines.
- Utilize the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to maintain accurate sales funnel, customer contacts, activities, and forecast for your territory.
- Introduce new business to Radiometer product lines while driving favorable pricing and contract coordination per the company’s growth objectives.
- Leverage installed base and relationships across Radiometer and other Danaher operating companies to improve visibility, customer intimacy, and win‑rates.
- Plan, organize, and execute sales calls and lead key accounts throughout the sales cycle.
- Bachelor’s degree required – Scientific/Business major or other scientific major preferred.
- 5+ years sales experience in medical diagnostics, veterinary diagnostics, medical device, or academia and research; background must include capital equipment sales.
- Strong understanding of Bio Process, therapeutic drug development, veterinary, and agriculture market experience a plus.
- Proficiency with business management systems, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), database, and CRM.
- Ability to travel – estimated at 50‑70% or greater including some overnight travel (up to 15 states) and 10% of travel outside of the US.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 50 lbs and meet other physical requirements.
- Distribution or manufacturer sales experience.
The salary range for this role is $95,000‑$100,000 in good faith, and this role is also eligible for commissions, bonus, and incentive pay.
