Role Overview
Backyard ADU’s Assistant Project Executive is a feeder role to becoming a regional Project Executive. It is expected a successful candidate will stand on their own in 6-12 months. Backyard Project Executives have the ability to grow professionally in both direct-to-consumer residential construction and developer‑led commercial/multi‑family construction.
Assistant Small Home AdvisorBackyard ADU’s Assistant Project Executive is a feeder role to becoming a regional Project Executive. It is expected a successful candidate will stand on their own in 6-12 months. The executive must demonstrate empathetic project management on behalf of clients and internal team, salesmanship to represent the company to the community, and maintain strong relationships with customers.
The Assistant Exec will travel to project locations multiple times per week, take notes and track action items from meetings, and help their Executive manage priorities and tasks.
Daily Activities- Attend and take notes on all feasibility studies and learn about ADU construction requirements
- Attend home sets and learn about modular logistics
- Take sales calls and customer service calls
- Attend client meetings and manage follow up tasks
- Keep Hub Spot client and project cards up to date (project notes, project stage, etc.)
- Independently learn the local rules and regulations in your region
- Independently learn about water, sewer, electrical services, drainage and other site requirements (under guidance of Backyard)
- Prepare and review construction contracts
- Follow clients through the design/build process from feasibility study to move‑in
- Meet and develop relationships with Backyard’s team and clients
- Able to maintain deep empathy for the client to drive focus on best solutions
- Able to develop a remote working environment
- Already familiar with Google Workspace or able to learn it quickly
- Already familiar with Hub Spot CRM or able to learn it quickly
- Competent in spreadsheets
- Willing to accept feedback, constructive criticism, and direction regarding your role and performance
- Excited for personal career growth

- Identify existing water, sewer and electrical connections
- Identify modular and crane constraints
- Demonstrate understanding of financing options for residential construction and ADUs
- Communicate with clients about budget and financing needs
- Discuss budget and specification trade‑offs with clients
- Understand client desires and accurately communicate them to the project team
- Prioritize tasks across sales leads, design clients and construction clients
- College degree preferred
- Work or extensive personal experience in real estate or construction
- Client‑facing background; consultative sales or advisory experience preferred
- Proven track record of managing multiple complex projects simultaneously
- 40 hours of direct project work
- 10 hours of self‑driven continuing education outside of project work hours
Must live in the region (Metro West to Worcester). Work will occur remotely and at client sites.
PayBase Salary: $65,000 – $85,000 based on prior experience and career level.
