Sales Representative, Business Development
About the Role
Sell the full product portfolio of digital printers, plotters, scanners, and software solutions to the marketplace. Find new customers, build and maintain relationships with the existing customer base focusing on long‑term development. Recognize customer needs, identify new opportunities, and translate them into Canon solutions. The role requires living within a reasonable commuting distance to Tennessee areas to adequately execute responsibilities.
Your Impact- Prospects/cold calls in new markets to attract new business while maintaining and expanding services to existing clients.
- Translate feature functionality of hardware and software into customer value added benefits.
- Meet required sales activities including demonstrations and proposals.
- Manage complex sales cycles utilizing a consultative solution‑selling approach.
- Develop proposals outlining unique customer business applications, pricing and implementation plans.
- Utilize internal resources, including product specialists and technical support, to effectively present Canon USA's solutions to customers.
- Update and maintain customer and prospect database using internal software.
- Build upon customer satisfaction and retention.
The Skills & Expertise You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required, plus 5 years of related experience.
- Sales experience with proven success identifying target markets and potential customers.
- Excellent presentation, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Results orientation with the ability to work independently.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify processes and workflows.
- Uses time effectively and efficiently and sets priorities.
- Working knowledge of digital/network systems.
- Ability to utilize computer applications (i.e., Microsoft Office).
- Travel throughout assigned territory, may include overnights (valid driver's license and acceptable driving record necessary).
Base salary range: $61,800 - $92,520 annually. Eligible for incentive compensation under the terms of an applicable plan and/or policy. Also eligible for a transportation allowance.
Workstyle DescriptionHybrid – full‑time position with a hybrid work schedule requiring office attendance three days a week and an option to work from home the remainder of the week (unless a specific business need arises requiring in‑office attendance on other days). Work schedules and office reporting requirements may change from time to time based on business needs.
