Position: Account Manager 2-3, Specialty OE

ON-SITE/REMOTE: Remote

Position Summary

Maintain customer relationships at the purchasing, engineering, quality, marketing, and sales levels focused on implementing strategic and tactical customer account initiatives, while requiring minimal supervision and support.

Essential Functions
  • Lead day‑to‑day account maintenance topics, responding to price requests, change requests, tracking quality & delivery performance and support product launch initiatives.
  • Support customer interactions that impact commercial aspects including quotes and written agreements.
  • Develop interpersonal relationships with key customer contacts.
  • Monitor sales order process and provide strong technical support on complex orders.
  • Possess a strong understanding of clients’ businesses, industry, and organizational structure.
  • Establish short‑ and long‑term sales plans using global online computer tools based on interaction with Bendix CoC directors and the Account Team.
  • Assist open RFQ response by working with CoC’s and purchasing.
Knowledge
  • Strong knowledge of all areas in the transportation industry including suppliers, OEMs, fleets, OES, independent distribution channels, etc.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of organizational sales policies and procedures.
  • Understanding of the operation, design and application of air brake and foundation brake systems and steering systems.
  • Knowledge of contracts and negotiation tactics.
  • Knowledge of marketing strategies.
  • Knowledge of computer‑based programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in account management or related field.
  • 5 years’ experience in the heavy‑vehicle industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with heavy‑vehicle brake systems or a minimum of 3 years brake‑system sales experience at a heavy‑vehicle OEM.
Skills
  • Strong technical solution‑based selling skill set.
  • High technical aptitude and business acumen in the commercial vehicle industry.
  • Customer‑first attitude, driven to build and prioritize customer relationships throughout the customer’s organization and within Bendix.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills, including ability to develop creative solutions that address customer needs.
  • Self‑starter and strategic thinker for both short‑term and long‑term wins.
  • Ability to partner with customers to develop actionable and strategic plans.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Strong professional presence, capable of influencing through interactions and follow‑up.
  • Capable of building and using a strong network, team player, and willingness to work in a matrixed organization.
  • Ability to build and deliver professional presentations.
  • Learn quickly in a short amount of time.
  • Maintain an organized work area from a home office that allows for quick and efficient responses to customer needs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree required;
    Business or Engineering discipline preferred.
Travel Requirements
  • Individual must be domiciled in the defined territory and located within one hour of a major airport.
  • Must be capable of traveling 60% of the time to customer facilities, Bendix locations, and industry events.
Compensation & Benefits

Anticipated salary range: $89,900–$158,200 per year (Avon, OH). Benefits include health, dental, vision, basic life and disability insurance, 401(k) plan, 120 hours vacation, 40 hours personal paid absence, 12 paid holidays, one floating holiday, 6 weeks paid parental leave, and potential annual bonuses up to 20% of salary. Note that immigration sponsorship is not offered; applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full‑time basis.
