Position Overview
Victaulic has been a leader in mechanical pipe joining solutions since 1919. We are expanding our outside sales team and seek a Territory Manager to drive revenue growth across a defined region. As a sales representative you will travel frequently, develop relationships with contractors, engineers and project owners, and provide value‑added solutions that keep projects on schedule and on budget.
Responsibilities- Become an expert on Victaulic products and train on grooved mechanical pipe joining methods, as well as competing techniques such as welding and flanging.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with mechanical contractors, engineers, and building/project owners, including spending time beyond normal business hours for dinners, sporting events and other social occasions.
- Partner with local trade organizations and distributors to create a balanced distribution network and coordinate activities with other Victaulic representatives and regional market specialists.
- Educate customers on product value through on‑site tool demos, lunch‑and‑learn presentations and ongoing support, influencing decision‑makers to maximize sales potential.
- Develop a business plan with the Regional Sales Manager that includes opportunity mapping, sales goals, product promotion plans and strategies to maximize sales potential.
- Execute all phases of project pursuit and project management to secure a purchase order – from design, specifications, drawings, bidding phase, job‑site training and support, to final commissioning and after‑sale follow‑up.
- Lead the inside sales team, engineering and other support staff to meet customer requirements and ensure effective teamwork.
- Manage a balanced distribution network and coordinate activities with other regional specialists to ensure the best customer experience.
- Maintain meaningful relationships by spending sufficient time on the road and being available for social events as required.
- Operate in a self‑motivated manner with minimal supervision, demonstrating flexibility, resilience, problem‑solving and project management skills.
- Travel as required and be prepared for adverse weather conditions and heavy equipment handling (up to 50+ pounds).
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Previous sales experience selling value‑added products or services, preferably related to the commercial construction industry, PVF industry (pipes, valves, fittings) or mechanical products.
- Demonstrated sales achievements and a history of developing and nurturing long‑standing relationships.
- Competitive nature, flexibility, resiliency, and self‑motivation for remote work.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, creative thinking and resourcefulness.
- Excellent organization, time management and project management skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively, including overnight stays, evenings and weekends.
