Program Location
During the first three months of the program, participants will be located at Whirlpool’s global headquarters in Southwest Michigan. Training includes courses on Whirlpool brands, products, customers, and go-to-market strategies.
After training, participants will relocate for approximately 12–18 months to a selected sales territory across the United States. Participants may either return to Benton Harbor, MI or take another field-based role for an additional 12–18 months.
Your Day-to-DayTraining focuses on learning about Whirlpool brands, products, consumers, and market approaches.
Your First Rotation – Sell ThruParticipants serve as Territory Sales Representatives (TSRs). As the primary face of Whirlpool, TSRs manage 30+ retail stores in their dedicated geographical territory. Responsibilities include building relationships with retail partners and field leadership, and collaborating to drive initiatives for increased rates of recommendation, sales, and market share of brand products.
Your Second Rotation – Sell InParticipants transition to a Market Development Representative (MDR) role based in Benton Harbor, MI or a field location. MDRs cultivate relationships with 50+ small‑to‑medium‑sized dealers in a dedicated geography. They drive sales performance, balance floor and sale, grow and maintain the builder pipeline, and drive mix. The MDR may earn an incentive bonus based on quota performance.
Minimum Requirements- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8.
- Indefinite U.S. work authorization; visa sponsorship is not available.
- Willingness to travel and relocate domestically.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs with assistance; physical activity such as setting up promotional material is required.
- Marketing or sales degree.
- Previous internship experience.
- Previous leadership experience.
- Dynamic presenter with strong public‑speaking, facilitation, and influencing skills.
- Proven track record of success with quantitative and qualitative results.
