Position: Senior Territory Account Manager )

Job Summary:

Senior Territory Account Manager (Account Growth & Expansion)

Alberta Strainers seeks a strategic Senior Territory Account Manager based in Edmonton, Alberta. Currently, 80% of our business is concentrated within Alberta through major international PVF (pipes, valves, fittings) distributing and manufacturing companies.

Your mission is two-fold: maintain and deeply service our current established distributor and manufacturer branches, while aggressively expanding our footprint across Western Canada (BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba). You will achieve this by unlocking all unserviced sister-branches of our existing international partners and hunting for new distribution and manufacturing companies to carry or integrate our off-the-shelf Y-strainers and basket strainers.

Key Responsibilities Existing Account Optimization & Branch Expansion (60% Focus)
  • Service Current Branches:
Maintain top-tier relationships with our existing major international distributor and manufacturing branches in Alberta to protect our core revenue.
  • Map Sister Branches:
Systematically identify, contact, and onboard all unserviced branches of our current international partners across BC, SK, and MB.
  • Inventory & OEM Auditing:
Review branch inventory levels and manufacturers' standard bill of materials to ensure optimal stocking and specification of our Y and basket strainers.
  • Conduct Technical Training:
Travel to regional branches to conduct product training, counter days, and technical seminars for sales and procurement personnel.
New Distribution & OEM Business Development (40% Focus)
  • Onboard New Partners:
Identify, pitch, and secure supply agreements with new independent and regional PVF distribution companies and equipment manufacturers across Western Canada.
  • Leverage Inventory Advantage:
Sell the benefits of Alberta Strainers’ extensive, immediate, off-the-shelf oilfield inventory to displace competitors and secure OEM standard placement.
  • Negotiate Supply Agreements:
Coordinate with management to set up buying group pricing, bulk volume discounts, and initial stocking orders for new accounts.
  • Maximize Oil & Gas Network:
Leverage existing relationships with energy sector buyers to pull demand through newly established distributor and manufacturing branches.
Regional Territory Management
  • Territory Planning:
Strategically map out multi-province travel to balance routine servicing of Alberta accounts with expansion trips across Western Canada.
  • Pipeline & CRM Tracking:
Meticulously document branch contacts, OEM specifications, active quotes, and territory growth metrics within the CRM system.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education & Experience:

5+ years of B2B industrial sales experience, specifically managing relationships with major international PVF distributors and manufacturing companies in Western Canada.
  • Industry Deep-Dive:
Deep knowledge of the Western Canadian oil and gas supply chain (upstream, midstream, downstream) and equipment manufacturing sectors.
  • Proven Track Record:
Demonstrated success in "land and expand" strategies—taking an existing corporate account and expanding into new geographic branches or manufacturing facilities.
  • Relationship Management:
Ability to navigate complex corporate structures of international corporations, from local branch and plant managers up to regional procurement directors.
  • Willingness to Travel:
High mobility; required to travel extensively across BC, AB, SK, and MB to visit field branches and manufacturing plants (approximately 40–50% travel).
  • Catalog & Spec Proficiency:
Ability to quickly cross-reference competitor part numbers and advise on optimal strainer configurations and metal types for oilfield applications and OEM equipment.
  • Licensing:
Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving abstract.
  • Account Management

    Experience:

    3 years (required)
  • Language:
    Positive English (required)
  • Work Location:

    In person
Compensation & Benefits
  • Base Salary: $85,000 – $100,000 CAD base salary, reflecting the senior regional scope of the role.
  • Incentive Structure:
Performance-based variable bonus/commission structure tied directly to branch expansion, OEM adoption, and recent account onboarding (Estimated year-one OTE of $120,000 – $140,000+ CAD).
  • Travel Perks:
Monthly vehicle allowance plus a corporate fuel card.
  • Expenses: 100% company-paid travel, hotel, and distributor/manufacturer entertainment expenses via a corporate credit card.
  • Benefits:
    Comprehensive health, dental, and vision packages. Dental care;
    On-site parking.
  • Tools:
Corporate smartphone, laptop, and home-office stipend.
