Furst-McNess Company is looking to add a full-time Livestock Feed & Nutrition Account Manager (Beef Focus) to cover the Northeast Nebraska and Southeast South Dakota territory.

Pay Type:

Salary plus commissions, paid bi-weekly

Sales Territory Coverage:

This role manages a territory primarily covering Northeast Nebraska and Southeast South Dakota, with flexibility to expand based on business needs.

Following onboarding, the position operates on a hybrid schedule, balancing on-farm customer visits and home office days of days covering the territory with on-farm visits and home office days.

This structure supports consistent customer engagement and effective territory management. Candidates must be comfortable with regular regional travel.

Preferred candidates will reside within or in close proximity to the assigned territory.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Livestock Feed & Nutrition Account Manager is a sales-focused role responsible for driving growth through the promotion and sale of animal nutrition products and services. This position partners with livestock producers to deliver tailored feeding solutions that improve animal performance, optimize efficiency, and enhance profitability. The consultant builds strong relationships, develops new business opportunities, and utilizes technical expertise to support customer success across various production systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop new business and expand relationships with livestock producers within an assigned territory

Promote and sell animal nutrition products, programs, and services to meet customer needs

Provide consultative support on feeding strategies, herd performance, and production goals

Identify opportunities to improve customer outcomes through nutrition and management solutions

Maintain an active sales pipeline and achieve volume, revenue, and margin targets

Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to inform sales strategies

Build and maintain long-term, trusted relationships with customers and industry partners

Collaborate with internal teams (nutrition, operations, marketing, and sales) to support business growth

Utilize CRM tools to manage accounts, track performance, and maintain accurate records

Represent the company at industry events, customer meetings, and trade shows as needed

Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Associates, Bachelor’s, or advanced degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, or a related field, or equivalent experience3+ years of experience in livestock nutrition, sales, or a related field preferred

Knowledge of livestock production systems and feeding practices preferred

Strong sales, relationship-building, and communication skills

Ability to work independently, manage a territory, and prioritize multiple responsibilities

Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with CRM systems is a plus Strong problem-solving and customer service orientation

Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed
