About the Role
Position Title: Senior Sales Engineer (SSE)
Location: Colorado
Responsible for arranging pre‑sales engagement, developing territory plans, engaging technical and executive stakeholders, and supporting complex sales opportunities.
Responsibilities- Work with account teams to formulate territory plans, account strategies, and sales plans.
- Identify and develop new opportunities within assigned territory.
- Engage senior IT leadership to qualify and understand technical, financial, operational and business issues.
- Build relationships with technical decision makers and drive detailed Technical Account Plans using Commvault Target Account Selling methodology.
- Translate pre‑sales discovery into concise technical and business messaging.
- Collaborate on case creation and presentation to C‑level executives and technical partners.
- Demonstrate Commvault products through presentations, demos, pilots, and proof‑of‑concept sessions.
- Participate in sales and regional meetings, QBRs, and provide technical leadership.
- Provide technical enablement to channel and alliance partners as needed.
- Maintain technical and market expertise via training, certifications, conferences.
- Inform senior management of key issues and changes that may impact business results.
- Assist in product or process improvements and support innovation initiatives.
- 5+ years in software or storage industry; 3+ years in pre‑sales sales engineering.
- Experience delivering, presenting, and selling to Enterprise/Commercial clients.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise data protection solutions (backup, migration, replication, compliance, etc.).
- Consultative selling skills with ability to articulate product benefits, TCO, and create business cases.
- Experience with sales methodologies (MEDDIC, TAS, SPIN, Solution Selling, Challenger).
- Knowledge of operating systems, hypervisors, cloud platforms, and infrastructure technologies.
- Experience managing at least three Fortune 500–1000 accounts.
- Proficiency in and organized procedural work.
- BS or MS in Computer Science/Engineering or related field preferred.
- Flexible to remote and autonomous work; travel up to 50%.
- Must reside in Colorado.
- Competitive base salary range: $93,500—$230,000 USD.
