Job Summary
The Account Executive – Tax Specialist is responsible for prospecting, qualifying, selling, and closing new business to state and local public sector. The role requires strong leadership in customer engagement, and utilizes Neumo resources to solve customer problems with appropriate products and services.
Duties and Responsibilities- Account and Customer Relationship Management, Sales and Software License, Services Revenue and Subscription Revenue.
- Annual Revenue – Achievement/exceed quota targets for both On‑Premise and Cloud software, Services and Renewals.
- Sales Strategies – Develops effective and specific account plans to ensure revenue target delivery and sustainable growth. Builds relationships in new and existing customers and leverages them to drive strategy through the organization.
- Trusted Advisor – Establishes strong relationships based on knowledge of customer requirements and commitment to value.
- Builds a foundation to harvest future business opportunities with accurate account information and coaching.
- Customer Acumen – Actively understands each customer’s technology footprint, strategic growth plans, technology strategy and competitive landscape.
- Reviews public information (e.g., new executive appointments, public records, vendor statements, press releases) to stay updated on key industry trends and issues impacting prospects.
- Territory and Account Leadership – Leads designated territory, including accounts, account relationships, prospect profiling, and sales cycles. Encourages all accounts to become Neumo references.
- Business Planning – Develops and delivers comprehensive business plans to address customer and prospect priorities and pain points.
- Demand Generation, Pipeline and Opportunity Management.
- Value Engineering and business case creation with ROI analysis.
- Pipeline planning – Maintains a rolling pipeline, keeping it current and moving up the pipeline curve.
- Pipeline partnerships – Leverages support organizations including Marketing, CSMs, Partners and channels to funnel pipeline into the assigned territory.
- Leverages Neumo Solutions – Utilizes all Neumo offers to support sales pursuits including industry solutions, line‑of‑business solutions, and technology/consulting/business process outsourcing solutions.
- Advances and closes sales opportunities through successful execution of the sales strategy and roadmap.
- Supports all Neumo promotions and events in the territory.
- Exhibits sales excellence, sells value and achieves customer outcomes.
- Maintains white space analysis and executes initiatives (upsell and cross‑sell) on the customer base.
- Orchestrates resources: deploys appropriate teams to execute winning sales, including both Neumo and partner resources.
- Utilizes best practice sales models.
- Understands Neumo’s competition and positions solutions effectively.
- Maintains CRM system with accurate customer and pipeline information.
- Accurately forecasts opportunities.
- Demonstrates leadership skills in orchestrating remote teams.
- Ensures account teams and partners are well‑versed in each account’s strategy and positioned for all customer touch points and events, maximizing the value of all sales support organizations.
- Collaborates with Finance and Accounting and technical buying personas.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
- 5–10 years of experience in sales of complex business software / IT solutions / Business Process Outsourcing primarily to public sector, state, and local government accounts.
- Proven track record in business application software sales across industries.
- Experience in a lead role within a team‑selling environment.
- Demonstrated success with large transactions and lengthy sales campaigns in a fast‑paced, consultative, and competitive market.
Skills and Abilities
- Experience working with public sector Finance Departments.
