Sales Representative, Business Development, Sales Development Rep/SDR
Job Description
VWR is looking for a dedicated, high-energy Sales Representative to maintain and grow our Pharma, Biotech and Industrial sales efforts within the PA/MD region.
This is a full-time, field-based position where you will consultatively sell VWR’s extensive portfolio of products and services to researchers, scientists, and operational staff. What We’re Looking For- Education: College degree or equivalent/applicable experience
- Experience: 3-5 years working in a complex sales environment; multiple stakeholders and solution-based selling approach
- Achievements: Proven track record of verifiable sales success driving growth with a consultative, strategic selling approach
- Industry: Business-to-business sales experience, preference for those with distribution experience and scientific background or laboratory/research environment
- Skills: Demonstrated capability to utilize selling processes such as SPIN, Challenger, Miller Heiman and technology platforms including and Qlikview
- Travel: Willingness to travel to customer locations 4+ days a week
- Preferred Qualifications: Science or Medical Technology background
- Provide VWR solutions to customers across Pharma, Biotech and Industrial market segments
- Prospect and establish new customers by managing a sales pipeline, developing and delivering proposals to illustrate VWR's value proposition
- Sell consultatively, detail products, determine customer needs and recommend solutions to prospects and customers
- Work with sales management to develop strategic territory business plans for sales growth and quota attainment
- Build and sustain relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction and loyalty
- Manage VWR's product portfolio and implement company-defined sales and marketing strategies
- Expand VWR's role with existing customers by developing retention strategies
- Leverage resources to effectively implement company marketing plan, strategies and sales processes
- Represent and develop strong relationships with manufacturers, working directly with local manufacturer representatives to improve product knowledge, pricing and account profitability
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Ability to handle difficult situations and interactions
- Ability to work independently and manage time and territory successfully
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to sell strategically within an account
- Understanding of individual customer operations
- Computer knowledge:
Microsoft Office
Typically works from a home office with extensive regional travel to customer locations. The role is mostly sedentary, but requires walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects under 10 lbs.
Compensation and BenefitsPre-tax base salary: $59,150.00 – $.
Target Cash Opportunity (TCO): $98,600.00 – $ based on achieved sales and incentives.
