The Role

The Business Development Representative (BDR) is a vital member of the marketing and sales team, responsible for qualifying leads and generating opportunities (demos) to support the company's growth initiatives. The BDR plays a crucial role in identifying potential customers, initiating contact, and nurturing relationships to convert prospects into qualified sales opportunities.

This position requires a proactive and results‑driven individual with excellent communication skills and a passion for helping businesses succeed.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and research potential leads through online research, social media, trade shows, webinars, inbound inquiries, and data enrichment sources.
  • Build and maintain a database of potential customers and decision‑makers within target industries and companies.
  • Initiate outbound communication with leads via phone calls, emails, videos, and social media to introduce the company's products or services and gauge their interest.
  • Qualify leads based on budget, timeline, and need, and prioritize them for further engagement.
  • Engage in conversations with leads to understand business challenges, needs, and pain points.
  • Educate leads about the value proposition of the company's offerings and how they address specific needs.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with qualified leads to build and strengthen relationships.
  • Provide relevant content, resources, and information to nurture leads through the sales funnel.
  • Collaborate closely with the sales team to hand off qualified leads and ensure a seamless transition from marketing to sales.
  • Provide detailed lead information and insights to help sales professionals tailor their approach.
  • Keep accurate records of all interactions and lead status in the CRM system.
  • Monitor and update lead profiles to reflect changes in status or needs.
  • Meet or exceed KPIs such as opportunity creation targets, SQOs, conversion rates, outreach activity, and ACV contribution.
  • Provide regular reports and insights on lead generation and qualification activities.
  • Demonstrate measurable improvement in call quality, objection handling, and conversion rates within the first 12 months.
  • Consistently meet monthly, quarterly, and yearly opportunity and activity targets.
  • Ensure outbound execution is aligned with current messaging, positioning, and GTM priorities.
  • Build trust with sales teams to translate opportunities into closed‑won deals.
Qualifications
  • High energy with a strong desire to succeed.
  • 1–3 years of proven experience as an MDR/SDR/BDR in lead generation, inside sales, or a related role (preferably B2B SaaS).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including active listening and rapport‑building.
  • Self‑motivated, results‑oriented, and able to work independently.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and sales automation tools such as Salesforce, Hub Spot, Outreach, Zoom Info, Ring Lead, Nooks, Qualified.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Nice to Have
  • Experience selling into accounting, bookkeeping, or professional services firms.
  • Experience working closely with Sales, Marketing, and Product teams.
  • Familiarity with webinar‑driven pipeline and marketing‑sourced demand.
