International Drilling Equipment is seeking a Territory Manager
In this role, the territory manager is the pipeline of all new business that comes to IDE. The sales and service delivery model sustains and supports the employees of IDE. The Territory Manager will ensure current customers have the right products and services, identify new markets and customer leads, and pitch prospective customers. The area sales manager will also monitor competition, collect payments, maintain good customer relations, and pursue new sales opportunities.
Primaryjob responsibilities
- Generating new sales and revenue by researching untapped market sectors.
- Managing and maintaining existing customer relationships by constant contact and communication.
- Qualifying prospects, handling minor grievances, helping collect payments, and serving as a liaison to the parts and service department for clients.
- Monitoring and maintaining cost-conscious travel expenses for the region.
- Participating in trade shows and conferences.
- Maintaining a log of activity, call reporting system, and/or CRM for the assigned region.
- Seeking to learn and increase product knowledge through job site visits, IDE class opportunities, and traveling with other IDE personnel.
- Offering and representing all product lines carried by IDE in the assigned region.
- Developing a traveling agenda that allows personal interaction with each client at least once a quarter.
- Complying in a timely manner with any management-requested information and helping develop a sales forecast and status of offers/deals tracking database.
- Following all IDE policies and procedures.
- Participating in sales development seminars once a year.
The individual in this position should be personable, a problem solver, self‑motivated, take initiative, a leader of people, ethical, intelligent, and able to adapt to all of the forces around them—customers, suppliers, department employees, co‑workers, and manufacturer employees.
Education / Training / ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent. 1‑2 years of sales experience in a similar industry.

- Good computer and systems knowledge including Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to manage multiple customer data, priorities, and develop relationships with internal, potential, and external customers as well as manufacturer representatives.

- Basic understanding of systems such as record‑keeping and filing.
- Ability to work independently.
- Use of hands, fingers, and wrists frequently.
- Daily work behind an office desk, using a computer and telephone.
- On‑site visits to clients which may require physically inspecting job sites to determine client needs.
- May need to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.
- Office environment occasionally, frequent travel exposure, to weather and elements at client sites. Remote work and frequent travel.
