Opportunity
VWR is looking for a dedicated, high‑energy Sales Representative to maintain and grow our Education & State Government sales efforts within the Cincinnati region. This full‑time, field‑based role requires consultative selling of VWR’s extensive portfolio of products and services to researchers, scientists, and operational staff.
Qualifications- College degree or equivalent applicable experience.
- 3–5 years of experience in a complex sales environment with multiple decision makers.
- Proven sales success using a consultative, strategic selling approach.
- Business‑to‑business sales experience, preferably with distribution exposure and a scientific background.
- Demonstrated use of selling processes such as SPIN, Challenger, or Miller Heiman and technology platforms including and Qlikview.
- Willingness to travel to customer locations 4+ days a week.
- Preferred Science or Medical Technology background.
- Provide VWR solutions to customers across Education & Medical Research and State Government markets.
- Prospect and establish new customers, manage a sales pipeline, and develop and deliver proposals that illustrate VWR’s value proposition.
- Sell consultatively, detail products, determine customer needs, and make recommendations for VWR’s available solutions.
- Work with sales management to develop strategic territory business plans for sales growth and quota attainment.
- Collaborate with sales management to implement sales strategies and achieve revenue growth.
- Build and sustain relationships with customers, ensuring satisfaction and loyalty.
- Manage VWR’s product portfolio and execute company‑defined sales and marketing strategies.
- Expand existing customers through retention strategies that align with evolving customer requirements.
- Leverage available resources to implement company marketing plans, strategies, and sales processes.
- Represent and develop strong relationships with manufacturers; work with local manufacturer representatives to improve product knowledge, secure favorable pricing, and enhance account profitability.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Excellent communication and team interaction skills with customers, manufacturers, and staff.
- Ability to conduct business conversations with owners and decision makers.
- Capable of handling difficult situations and interactions.
- Self‑directed with strong time‑management and territory‑management skills.
- Analytical thinking and strategic selling ability within an account.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
The role is based from a home office with extensive regional travel to customer locations. Duties include walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 10lbs. The position is predominantly sedentary but requires periodic physical activity.
PayExpected pre‑tax pay: $59,150–$100,740. Incentive compensation and target cash opportunity range up to $167,900.
