Telephone Sales Representative
As a Telephone Sales Representative you will sell high‑value products such as appliance maintenance agreements to customers of Sears and other clients. You will receive training, work in a fun and engaging environment, and have the opportunity for significant compensation.
Responsibilities- Contact customers via telephone and attempt to sell Product Maintenance and Protection Agreements.
- Engage decision‑makers and apply communication, customer service, and problem‑solving skills.
- Deliver a sales presentation that is partially scripted, using ad‑libs as needed, and adapt quickly to change.
- Offer the best value to the customer in terms of price, discounts, multiple and additional products, and maximum term.
- Emphasize features and benefits of the Protection Agreement.
- Ask questions and overcome specific objections raised by the customer.
- Correct customer information on record when appropriate.
- Close the sale while respecting the customer's rights.
- Mail proposals and literature when requested.
- Follow through and call back per commitments.
- Work with other team members to provide the highest level of customer service and meet team goals.
- Comply with and adhere to selling policies, procedures, and company ethics.
- Complete leads, sales processing, and recording.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Complete internal documentation accurately.
- Present information to and communicate with customers and associates.
- Perform basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide units of measure).
- Apply reasoning and comprehension to carry out simple written or oral instructions.
- Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations, and occasionally interpret and adapt to customer needs and find solutions outside of the standardized situations.
- Demonstrate good intuition.
- Be assertive, self‑motivated, and possess drive.
- Communicate in spoken and written English clearly enough to be understood by supervisors, co‑workers, and customers.
- Enter data efficiently using keyboard, mouse, telephone, and headset equipment, and key information into the system while listening.
- Meet the physical requirements of frequent sitting and some standing and walking, with bending and reaching as necessary.
- Maintain composure and keep emotions in check even in difficult situations.
- Protect credit and debit card data as directed by the compliance team in accordance with PCI Data Security Standards.
- Sales experience in person or over the phone.
High school diploma or equivalent, less than one year of related experience, 18 years of age or older. The position is remote (Texas) and is a regular, full‑time call‑center role. Compensation: $14.00 per hour plus commission and incentive opportunities.
