Role Description The Director of Sales (Hotel) is a full-time, hybrid role based in Kenosha, WI, with a blend of on-property presence and some work-from-home flexibility. This role is responsible for driving hotel revenue by identifying, developing, and maintaining relationships with corporate, group, and extended-stay clients. Day-to-day responsibilities include prospecting and qualifying leads, conducting outside sales calls and site visits, preparing proposals and contracts, and managing key accounts to maximize occupancy and rate.
The Director of Sales will collaborate closely with the General Manager and operations teams to align sales strategies with revenue goals, monitor market trends and competitors, and maintain accurate sales reports and forecasts. This role also oversees sales-related marketing activities, participates in local networking events and brand initiatives, and ensures that all sales practices align with brand standards and guest satisfaction goals.
Qualifications
- Proven hotel or hospitality sales experience, including account management, corporate and group business development, and revenue-focused selling.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to present to clients, negotiate contracts, and represent the property at events and meetings.
- Experience with sales systems and tools (e.g., CRM, hotel PMS, sales reports), and proficiency in commonly used office software (such as email, spreadsheets, and presentations).
- Solid understanding of local and regional markets, competitor sets, and basic revenue management principles, including rate strategies and forecast analysis.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment, manage multiple priorities, and consistently meet sales targets and deadlines.
- Previous experience in limited-service or extended-stay hotels is preferred; prior brand experience (such as IHG or similar) is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality Management, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Availability to travel locally for sales calls, networking events, and industry functions as needed, with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
