Job Overview
The Confocal Sales Specialist is responsible for the growth and expansion of direct sales and profit margins within the New England and Upstate NY region. In this role you will create pipeline and close high-value sales, deliver presentations to highly educated customers, and conduct on‑site and off‑site demonstrations of complex technical systems.
Responsibilities- Develop strategies with the selling team to generate funnel and increase sales of Leica products in the assigned territory; recommend product, pricing, and sales promotion strategies.
- Conduct thorough needs analysis, manage opportunities with Salesforce, support local trade shows, and collaborate with other product specialists to improve field sales skills and product knowledge.
- Act on customer feedback, suggestions, and product performance data to enhance sales of Leica Confocal products.
- Generate field data, application notes, or publications in partnership with customers and experts to highlight product benefits and differentiate Leica products.
- Collaborate with Sales Managers, PPMs, Customer Service Technicians, Engineers, Accounting, and Dealers to satisfy customer needs.
- 3+ years of experience with confocal and/or widefield microscopy.
- Sales experience in selling technical products is desirable.
- In‑depth knowledge of the microscopy market is highly desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred (Bachelor’s with 8+ years, Master’s with 5+ years, PhD with 3+ years of experience).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel (30%).
- Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
This position is eligible for a remote work arrangement. Employees may work remotely from their home.
Compensation & BenefitsThe salary range for this role is $85,000 – $95,000. The role is also eligible for Sales Incentive Compensation (SIC) with a total target compensation at plan (base + SIC) of $150,000 – $160,000 annually. Employees receive a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and a 401(k) plan.
