Job Description
We are seeking a driven, reliable, highly organized, and pet-passionate professional with experience in a veterinary hospital environment or a strong field sales background with a demonstrated ability to quickly learn new industries.
In this role, you will visit veterinary practices throughout your assigned territory, build strong relationships, and engage hospital owners and staff on the benefits of pet insurance. You will help veterinary teams incorporate insurance discussions into their daily workflows, ultimately improving the hospital and patient experience.
The ideal candidate is comfortable with a full-time, 40-hour-per-week commitment, thrives in a highly active field-based role, and is motivated by growth and performance. This position offers a competitive base salary, a comprehensive bonus structure, and opportunities for career advancement.
This role requires daily, in-person visits to veterinary hospitals within a defined geographic territory.
Candidates must reside in the Guelph, Hamilton, Burlington, or surrounding areas to be considered.
The Role
Own the complete sales cycle within your territoryBuild and maintain trusted relationships with veterinary professionalsApproach objections with curiosity and a solutions-oriented mindsetUse data to effectively manage and grow your territoryTrain veterinary hospitals on incorporating pet insurance into their workflowsIncrease awareness and adoption of pet insurance throughout the territoryGrow the territory by increasing both active clients and same-hospital sales performanceRequirements
Self-motivated with a strong drive to succeedComfortable working independently and collaboratively within a team environmentProven success in B2B sales or managing a book of businessStrong verbal and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilitiesGoal-oriented, resilient, and proactiveTech-savvy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsPassionate about pets and aligned with Trupanion's mission of helping responsible pet owners provide the best possible care when their pets become sick or injuredValid driver's license with a clean driving recordReliable vehicle for daily travelLocation Requirements
Must reside in the Guelph, Hamilton, Burlington, or surrounding areaMust be willing to spend approximately 30 hours per week visiting veterinary hospitals, with the remaining time dedicated to administrative responsibilities from a home officeAdditional Requirements
Daily travel to veterinary hospitals is requiredOne week of in-person training at Trupanion's Home Office in SeattleOccasional weekend travel for regional meetings, training, and professional developmentOccasional weekend attendance at veterinary conferences and industry eventsQualifications
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the animal health industry orMinimum of 3 years of experience in a sales representative roleAdditional Information
