The Account Executive role is a full-time, hybrid position based in Baltimore, MD, with a mix of on-site client visits and work-from-home responsibilities. The Account Executive will manage and grow relationships with dispensaries and retail partners, acting as the primary point of contact for orders, product education, and ongoing service. Daily activities include prospecting and onboarding new accounts, scheduling and leading sales meetings, presenting product lines, and executing promotional activities and in-store events.
The role also involves monitoring sales performance, preparing reports and forecasts, gathering market feedback, and collaborating with internal teams on inventory, marketing, and product launches. The ideal candidate will consistently represent the Optimum Extracts brands professionally, maintain accurate records in CRM tools, and support territory growth strategies while ensuring adherence to state cannabis regulations.
- Proven experience in outside sales, account management, or business development, ideally in cannabis, CPG, or a regulated industry.
- Strength in relationship building and client service, including managing multiple accounts and maintaining long-term partnerships.
- Ability to conduct effective sales presentations, negotiate agreements, and close opportunities in a competitive environment.
- Comfort using CRM systems, spreadsheets, and basic reporting tools to track pipelines, sales metrics, and account activities.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the capacity to prioritize a busy schedule and meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including professional email, phone, and in-person communication.
- Knowledge of or interest in the cannabis industry, with an understanding of compliance and state regulatory requirements (or willingness to learn quickly).
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment, traveling regularly within the Baltimore, MD area and surrounding markets as needed.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to transport product samples and marketing materials to client locations, as permitted by law.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
