Compensation

$50,000 base salary plus uncapped tiered commission. Total compensation for a successful Design & Sales Consultant is expected to range from $80,000 to $120,000+ annually, depending on performance.

For nearly 23 years, Illuminations Landscape Lighting has transformed the Sacramento region’s most exquisite homes through thoughtfully designed outdoor lighting and audio. Specializing in luxury residential properties, Illuminations is known for high-touch client service and elevated design.

Illuminations is seeking a motivated, relationship-driven, and design-focused Design & Sales Consultant to help homeowners transform their outdoor spaces through thoughtful lighting design, elevated outdoor living experiences, and exceptional client service.

The ideal candidate is someone who can learn to see the potential in a property, visualize how lighting can enhance its beauty and functionality, and confidently communicate those ideas to homeowners.

The Design & Sales Consultant will work and train directly alongside the company’s founder and CEO, gaining hands‑on experience in a highly refined luxury residential sales process while helping shape the next phase of the company’s growth.

This role is designed to quickly develop into an independent, revenue‑generating sales position with significant long‑term earning and leadership potential. Successful candidates will be expected to progressively ramp into a high‑performing sales role within the first 90 days, with the opportunity to manage $750,000+ in annual project volume through a combination of inbound leads, referrals, relationship‑building, and proactive business development.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Respond to inbound leads and homeowner inquiries.
  • Schedule and manage client in‑home consultations and property walkthroughs.
  • Build strong relationships with prospective and existing clients.
  • Confidently guide homeowners through lighting and outdoor audio recommendations, project options, and investment decisions.
  • Proactively drive sales opportunities from initial inquiry through signed proposal.
  • Consistently follow up with leads, proposals, and pending projects to maximize close rates.
  • Develop and cultivate new sales opportunities through networking, referrals, relationship‑building, and local community engagement.
  • Identify opportunities to generate additional revenue from existing clients through system expansions, upgrades, maintenance plans, and outdoor audio solutions.
  • Maintain CRM (Jobber) organization and actively manage the sales pipeline.
  • Coordinate with office and field teams to ensure an exceptional client experience.
  • Learn luxury landscape lighting products, systems, design principles, and installation processes to confidently transform outdoor spaces through thoughtful lighting design.
  • Develop a trained design eye for identifying opportunities to enhance outdoor environments through lighting, audio, and other outdoor living solutions while balancing aesthetics, functionality, and client goals.
  • Gradually transition into independently managing consultations, closing projects, and generating substantial annual sales volume.

  • Comfortable with technology, CRM systems (Jobber), Google suite, email, calendars, and mobile apps.
  • Ability to travel throughout the greater Sacramento region for in‑home consultations and site visits.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle required.
