Business Development Manager
We’re looking for a Business Development Manager to join our growing sales team at Onterris, a national network of accredited environmental laboratories.
Responsibilities- Proactively prospect, pursue, qualify, and close leads.
- Assist clients in navigating complex environmental regulations and help them develop testing programs through a consultative sales process anchored on curiosity and problem solving.
- Cultivate existing relationships and develop strategies to grow key accounts.
- Manage leads and accounts to achieve sales goals and close new business.
- Complete sales administration activities, track data, and use the CRM to report on status and progress.
- Maintain disciplined sales hygiene, including developing and maintaining strategic account plans, sales forecasts, analytics, and reporting using Salesforce as the primary source of client data.
- Travel as needed to visit clients, develop territory, and attend conferences or trade shows.
- Help develop solutions for clients by leveraging the Enthalpy laboratory network and subject matter experts.
- Facilitate and coordinate quote, proposal, or RFP production and delivery from initial contact through purchase order.
- Monitor customer, market, and competitor activity, providing insights to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through monitoring and communication with clients, making performance changes when necessary, and sharing results with leadership and operational teams.
- Escalate client questions and concerns to management to ensure client satisfaction.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports highlighting sales, quote activity, pipeline forecast, salient client commentary, and market conditions, identifying opportunities and risks.
- Participate in company’s continuous improvement programs and support team efforts.
- Assist or participate in thought‑leadership marketing activities such as webinars, blog posts, or white papers.
- Experience in environmental sales, including business development and presenting to small, medium, and large audiences, with technical degree or experience.

- Meet the Onterris team and learn our functions through one‑to‑one meetings and formal onboarding, visiting clients and labs to learn our services.
- Participate in the monthly Sales Skills Development program with the Onterris sales community.
- Use the CRM to understand the sales cycle and track revenue growth and client interactions.
- Build relationships with other sales team members through group discussions and one‑to‑one meetings.
- Begin working with a predetermined client set.
