About The Role

As a member of Takeda Oncology, your work will contribute to our bold, inspiring vision to cure cancer. You will be part of the Oncology Sales team, reporting to the Regional Director and working with key stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Implement overall marketing and brand strategy for targeting and deployment of resources to key customers.
  • Formulate effective strategies to achieve sales goals and product positioning within target accounts.
  • Provide on-label clinical data to influence appropriate use of assigned product.
  • Initiate and develop business relationships with high‑level decision makers and other influential groups.
  • Use account‑specific targeted marketing materials to educate and address the needs of key stakeholders.
  • Create account‑specific business plans and strategies to appropriately gain access to key stakeholders.
  • Provide real‑time analysis and input on market conditions to Home Office colleagues for targeted marketing strategies.
  • Apply conceptual and practical expertise in own functional/technical area to implement plans and achieve sales goals.
  • Maintain competence in product knowledge, disease states, industry/competitive landscape, and organizational structure.
  • Analyze data and prepare subject matter for business reviews.
  • Act as a technical/functional subject matter resource for colleagues and customers, and continue to acquire higher‑level skills.
  • Complete accurate reporting in a timely manner (monthly territory plan, expenses, itinerary, sample inventory, speaker requests, budgeting).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and cross‑functional partners across Takeda Oncology.
  • Utilize company resources prudently, in line with guidelines.
  • Report all adverse events related to products in a timely, compliant manner.
  • Maintain comprehension of distribution and delivery system for oral molecules and the interface between specialty pharmacy, provider, and in‑office dispensing.
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of oncology or related specialty pharmaceutical experience.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • High comprehension of scientific knowledge and ability to communicate with medical professionals in a compliant manner.
  • Strong computer and technical skills to navigate software for data analysis.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous launch experience in oncology.
  • Established rapport and relationships in desired geographic area.
  • Previous oncology selling experience.
  • Large account management experience in oncology, emphasizing key community practices, academic and NCI/NCCN cancer centers.
Travel Requirements
  • Range from 20-30% travel depending on territory.
  • Territory includes Roanoke VA, Charlottesville VA, Sterling VA, Fredericksburg VA, Fairfax VA, Arlington VA, Bethesda MD, Silver Springs MD.
Training Requirements

This position and continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of mandatory product training, including written and oral examinations.

During the training period, the employee will be classified as non‑exempt and eligible for overtime. Training will take no more than 8 hours per day and 40 hours total in a workweek. Upon completion, the employee will transition to exempt status and become eligible for sales incentive programs.
