Autodesk is rapidly expanding its solutions via a comprehensive platform of capabilities spanning design, data, process and production. We are hiring a Senior Technical Sales Specialist MFG who partners with our sales teams to drive further adoption and use of our platform across multiple industries and disciplines in the Manufacturing space with a focus on the Digital Factory layout, simulation, automation, operations and asset management.
This is a Senior Technical Sales Specialist role that combines extensive industry knowledge with a strong technical acumen to efficiently and effectively articulate and demonstrate potential solution value to key customer stakeholders and decision makers. Autodesk’s technology platform is evolving rapidly, especially in the era of AI enhanced capabilities. As such, you bring a natural curiosity and willingness to innovate to have a meaningful impact.
This drive is balanced with a strategic mindset that is rooted in practical solutions while simultaneously evangelizing a long‑term vision.
This role is offered remote (US home office) with up to 30% travel expected across the US for customer and internal meetings/events as needed. The role reports to the Technical Specialist Sales Manager.
Responsibilities- Lead technical discovery across multiple disciplines and industries with a focus on Digital Factory requirements for layout, simulation, automation and asset management.
- Quickly identify and document customer challenges and needs.
- Develop and present precise and effective product demonstrations.
- Conduct value analyses (ROI) for prospects & customers.
- Assist in the production and delivery of executive level presentations and value summaries.
- Partner with cross‑functional teams in support of customer workshops, value assessments, customer win stories, training and other activities as needed.
- Help identify key industry metrics to track overall industry trends and competitive benchmarking to maintain relevance and accuracy.
- Collaborate with Partners in co‑selling motion for a smooth transition to services.
- Support demand generation activities such as webinars, seminars, and roadshows.
- 7+ years of Industry experience in Design & Manufacturing business with a focus on building design, layout, manufacturing methods and management.
- 3+ years of strategic sales or technical sales experience in the software industry.
- Interest and familiarity with adjacent manufacturing technologies – CAD/CAM/MES/ERP.
- Exceptional communication, listening and presentation skills to clarify and summarize complex issues into clear and straightforward content for C‑level executives and key business development leaders.
- Great storyteller who can effortlessly adapt communication style depending on the audience and level of engagement.
- Solid understanding of the design & manufacturing product development process.
- An innovative mindset tuned to a manufacturer’s process landscape to easily identify opportunities to enhance and improve new/existing processes via the platform.
- Ability to work autonomously, take ownership and ensure execution of key initiatives. Highly independent, driven & business oriented.
- Technical knowledge of AutoCAD, Vault, Flex Sim, Revit, Factory Design and Navisworks.
- Strong knowledge of Cloud‑enabled technologies, SaaS, AWS.
- Relationship‑based software sales experience selling into the C‑suite.
- Understanding of modern programming languages/methods – JavaScript/Python/RestAPI/MCP.
- Proven ability to develop strong long‑term business relationships.
- Must be willing to travel (30‑50%) to achieve sales objectives.
