Ready to make your mark in higher education? Kendall Hunt Publishing is seeking a driven Higher Education Sales Consultant to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who excels at building relationships, exceeding goals, and communicating effectively.
Responsibilities- Travel to college campuses (approximately 7 weeks per semester) and reside at home offices alternately.
- Interview professors and prospective author candidates to assess publication potential.
- Persuade educators to publish with Kendall Hunt and develop engaging, interactive materials for lower‑level, high‑enrollment courses.
- Build lasting partnerships with faculty and manage ongoing author relationships.
- Identify business opportunities and develop practical solutions to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Takes initiative and works independently, demonstrating an entrepreneurial mindset by actively problem‑solving and utilizing strong critical‑thinking skills.
- Has a strong desire to learn, coupled with a deep inclination to ask questions and seek answers, while actively engaging in diverse subject matter.
- Embraces a drive to win and excel, consistently seeking improvement and striving to outperform in a dynamic market.
- Shows persistence in overcoming challenges while exhibiting the ability to adapt and be flexible.
- Demonstrates effective listening, asks questions, thinks creatively/critically, and closes new business with prospective customers.
- Communicates clearly and confidently with professors, authors, team members and internal employees, ensuring information is conveyed effectively and professionally.
- Handles multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and customer service; time management is crucial.
- Identifies challenges and develops practical solutions in real‑time, enhancing customer satisfaction and streamlining processes.
- Demonstrates proficiency in managing responsibilities that require substantial independent work while also engaging in team collaboration.
- Holds a bachelor's degree and enjoys spending time on college campuses.
- Has a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record, in accordance with the company's corporate driving policy.
