Rare Disease Business Manager – Alpha-1

- Achieve sales quotas by driving new patient starts, selling in outpatient infusion centers and hospitals, and retaining patients on Takeda augmentation treatment.
- Focus on healthcare professionals in Pulmonology, Allergy/Immunology, Respiratory Therapy, and select Internal Medicine/Primary Care.
- Educate and inform HCPs about Takeda brands for Alpha‑1 Antitrypsin Deficiency.
- Build a National Sales and Marketing Strategy and create a territory business tactical plan to maximize opportunity.
- Make calls to prospective customers, master sales presentations, provide technical and administrative product information and demonstrations, and maintain compliance with promotional and expense policies.
- Collaborate with home office personnel, Marketing/Brand team, National and Corporate account teams, and other cross‑functional partners.
- Use Microsoft applications and Takeda’s customer management system.
- Conduct community education events for healthcare professionals and patients; occasional nights and weekends may be required.
- Promote Takeda Culture through positive ongoing relationships and activities.
- Bachelor’s degree (minimum) and 5‑7+ years of clinical sales experience in healthcare.
- Experience with specialty biologics (injections/infusions) and specialty pharmacies preferred.
- Knowledge of plasma‑derived therapies, rare diseases, or biotech desirable.
- Proven ability to set and achieve sales targets, working effectively both as a team member and individual contributor.
- Strong understanding of payor and reimbursement challenges.
- Excellent data‑analysis skills to create effective sales strategies.
- Effective at influencing healthcare professionals to prescribe products.
- Must live within the assigned territory and manage it from border‑to‑border.
- Expected travel: 50‑70% overnight; remaining time local travel.
- Must be 18 years of age or older with a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Must be authorized to drive a company‑leased vehicle or rental.
The position is contingent upon successful completion of mandatory product training, including written and oral examinations. Training may include live instruction, independent study, role play, and other activities, totaling no more than 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week. Upon successful completion, the employee will transition from non‑exempt to exempt status and become eligible for sales incentive programs.
Compensation and BenefitsHourly wage range: $66.11 – $90.91, adjusted for qualifications and experience. Full‑time employees are eligible for medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, short‑ and long‑term disability, basic life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time, company holidays, well‑being benefits, 80 hours sick time per calendar year, and 120 hours paid vacation for new hires.
